Brain of Dublin 2020 qualifier results

Following the qualifying heats held on Nov 4th & 12th, we are ready to reveal the results – namely, who has qualified for the inaugural Brain of Dublin tournament.

We had 46 entrants altogether, each of whom had 30 minutes to tackle the 50-question written paper. The top 32 qualify for the Brain of Dublin tournament itself, which will kick off in December and will run until April, with one lucky quizzer being named Brain of Dublin and scooping a cash prize to boot!

Below are the top 32 qualifiers. Further down you can download a copy of the qualifier questions (with or without answers) so you can have a go for yourself.

These 32 players now progress to the tournament proper, where they will be split into 8 head-to-head matches of 4 players each, with the top two scorers from each match qualifying for the next round in a subsequent month. This first set of 8 matches will take place on the same night and in the same venues as the Dublin Quiz League matches on Dec 2nd and Jan 27th (specific fixtures and venues for each player will be announced at a later stage).

The elimination rounds will continue through January, February and March until we are left with 4 players to contest the grand final in April.

Congratulations to all who qualified!

(Note: the tiebreaker answer was 707, so players with the same score are ranked by how close their answer was to the tiebreaker, namely the “tiebreaker difference” column.)
