This day-long tournament pits Ulster vs Connacht vs Munster vs Leinster in a 4-way quiz showdown.Entrants can compete for the province of their birth\, the province where they live\, or any province that they have a connection to.Also on Saturday\, we will be running the September edition of OQL Live VIII – a popular individual quiz set by the UK-based Online Quiz League. (Despite the name\, this is being held in person though!)Then on Sunday we’ll be hosting the 12th annual Irish Open\, an individual quiz event that over the course of 240 questions seeks to find the best quizzer in Ireland.Finally\, we’ll round off the weekend on Sunday afternoon with a fun team quiz (teams made up on the day) and an individual buzzer quiz. \n\n\n\nAll the events are open to everyone\, whether newcomers or quiz veterans\, and players are welcome to attend 1 day or both as they wish. The entry fee will be as follows: \n\n\n\n\nOne day only: €15 per person\n\n\n\nBoth days: €25 per person\n\n\n\n\nIf you are planning to attend\, please RSVP using the following form: https://forms.gle/MzyctV7we7xcHvBu8 – we will contact you with payment details after you RSVP. \n\n\n\nFinal timetable:\n\n\n\nNote the 11am arrival time on Saturday which is 30 mins later than previously announced. \n\n\n\nSATURDAY 26th:11.00-11.30: Arrival/registration11.30-13.15: OQL Live VIII individual quiz13.15-13.45: OQL marking13.45-14.15: Lunch break14.15-15.00: Interprovincials match 1 (Connacht v Leinster\, Ulster v Munster)15.15-16.00: Interprovincials match 2 (Connacht v Ulster\, Leinster v Munster)16.00-16.15: Coffee break16.15-17.15: Interprovincials match 3 (Munster v Connacht\, Ulster v Leinster)17.15-18.00: Interprovincials final & prizegiving18.00 onwards: dinner\, socialising etc. \n\n\n\nSUNDAY 27th:12.00-12.30: Arrive12.30-13.30: Irish Open paper 113.30-13.45: Paper 1 marking13.45-14.00: Coffee break14.00-15.00: Irish Open paper 215.00-15.45: Paper 2 marking15.45-16.00: Coffee break16.00-17.00: Fun team quiz17.00-18.00: Individual buzzer quiz18.00: Prizegiving & finish \n\n\n\nVenue information:\n\n\n\nOur venue is one of Dublin’s oldest pubs\, J&M Cleary’s\, located across the street from Connolly Station (beside the railway bridge that runs across Amiens Street) \n\n\n\nOnce you step into the pub\, walk past the bar and you’ll find the door to the back lounge to the right. The function room is very large and can comfortably hold 100 people. \n\n\n\nPlease also note that the venue is fully wheelchair accessible: from the entrance into the function room is step-free and there is an accessible toilet within the room. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nTravel & accommodation: \n\n\n\nBeing in such a central location\, the venue is easy to get to from a public transport perspective. For those arriving by train or DART into Connolly Station\, simply exit the station and walk across the street. If arriving into Heuston Station\, take the Luas towards the Point or Connolly and get off at either Busaras or Connolly stops\, both of which are a couple of hundred metres from the pub. \n\n\n\nFor those driving\, there is a limited amount of on-street parking around the back of the pub on Foley Street\, charged at €4 per hour on Saturday but free on Sunday. A cheaper parking option on Saturday would be the Connolly Station car park on Mayor Street\, 5 minutes walk from the pub\, where all-day parking costs €9.50. \n\n\n\nNote that there is a rear entrance to the pub on Foley Street but it is not in use: you will need to walk around to Amiens Street and come in the front door. \n\n\n\nAs for accommodation: Obviously as it’s Dublin city centre there are no shortage of accommodation options on Booking.com\, Airbnb.ie\, etc. \n\n\n\nInternational satellite venues:\n\n\n\nWe’d be delighted if any quizzers from around the world would like to run a local satellite venue for the Irish Open on Sunday 27th – proctors\, please fill in the details at https://forms.gle/KPohZVZscYndwise7 and we will share a copy of the questions ahead of time so you can print them for your venue. The questions will be international in scope and NOT Irish-specific (for a sample\, take a look at the Irish Open 2025 questions).Note\, only scores at our Irish venue in Dublin will count towards the official results\, but we will post all international scores here on quizireland.ie.

SUMMARY:World Quizzing Championships 2026 – Dublin venue
DESCRIPTION:Please note two changes to the originally-announced details: An earlier start time (please arrive at 11.00am instead of 11:30) and we are now on the top floor of the Parnell\, not the middle floor. \n\n\n\nOne day… one quiz… and thousands of people around the globe competing for the title of ‘best quizzer in the world’. It’s time for the annual World Quizzing Championships!https://www.worldquizzing.com/As in previous years\, we are hosting a satellite venue in Dublin so that Irish quizzers can take part. This time we will be using The Parnell Pub on Parnell Street in Dublin city centre. \n\n\n\n\nIt’s an individual written quiz\, so you don’t need to bring a team. There will also be a fun buzzer quiz afterwards to wind down: this is another individual quiz\, where you use your phone to buzz in to answer. \n\n\n\nThe cost is €10 per person for the full day’s quizzing\, payable on the day by cash or Revolut. \n\n\n\nIf you plan on coming\, either register on Quizzing.com (preferred) or email iqo@quizireland.ie\, so we know the numbers to expect and can have enough papers printed. \n\n\n\nOn the day you’ll find us in the top floor of the Parnell – note that the venue is fully accessible: on your left after you come in through the main doors there’s a lift serving all floors. \n\n\n\nTIMETABLE11:00-11:15: Registration/welcome11:15-12:15: World Quizzing Championships – Part 1 (individual written quiz)12:15-12:45: Part 1 answers & scoring12:45-13:15: Lunch break (full bar menu available)13:15-14:15: World Quizzing Championships – Part 2 (individual written quiz)14:15-14:45: Part 2 answers & scoring14:45-15:00: Short break15:00-16:00: Fun buzzer quiz16:00 onwards: Informal quizzing (numbers permitting) \n\n\n\nView Event↗
