DESCRIPTION:The IQO is pleased to announce we have revived our pre-COVID tradition of having a monthly get-together to play the Hot 100 and Squizzed quizzes in person in Dublin city centre. All quizzers old and new are welcome. \n\n\n\nOur venue will be Ryan’s Café and Bar\, Store Street\, Dublin 1 (near Busáras). \n\n\n\nThe evening will consist of the Hot 100 and Squizzed individual written quizzes held one after the other\, with a short break in between. DESCRIPTION:Register by Jan 24th via https://quizcentral.net/oqllive/Or – for those who miss the deadline\, a limited number of walk-ins places will be available\, please RSVP via email to: league (at) quizireland (dot) ie so we can save you a seat. \n\n\n\nPreviously known as the OQL Individual Championships\, the OQL Live VIII is a series of 8 quizzes taking place throughout 2026. Each event is an individual written quiz where hundreds of players across venues in the UK and Ireland sit the same 240 questions at the same time with 30 questions in each of the standard OQL categories. The OQL crowns winners in each category as well as an overall top 10. This event will also include fun team quizzes and buzzer quizzes at each of the venues. \n\n\n\nYou can pay £14/€15 for one event or avail of discounts for signing up to multiple events. Plus if it’s your first time attending one of these quizzes you can play for just €1! \n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\nThe event takes place in the downstairs function room of The Black Sheep pub on Dublin’s Capel Street.The rough timetable for the day is as follows: \n\n\n\n\n12 noon SHARP: Arrive and welcome\n\n\n\n12.15pm-2.00pm: Individual quiz\n\n\n\n2.00pm-2.30pm: Marking\n\n\n\n2.30pm-3.15pm: Break\n\n\n\n3.15pm-4.45pm: Fun team quiz\n\n\n\n4.45pm-5.00pm: Break\n\n\n\n5.00pm-6.00pm: Informal buzzer quizzing\n\n\n\n\nIn the main Individual quiz event\, players will have 105 minutes to answer 240 questions: 30 Qs in each of 8 categories as follows: \n\n\n\n\nArt and Literature – this will include all culture as well as classical music/ballet\n\n\n\nTelevision and Film – This category will include TV and Film from all genres and eras\n\n\n\nGeography – Much like OQL geography this round will include many social sciences as well as human and physical geography\n\n\n\nHistory – All history\, current events\, politics and a few other areas such as law\n\n\n\nLifestyle – This is the general lifestyle category which covers things such as fashion\, celebs\, food and drink\, fitness\, alternative medicines and more\n\n\n\nPop Culture – This is where you’ll find pop music questions which will make up about 50% of this round\, the rest will be other forms of popular entertainment such as computer games\, board games\, podcasts\, radio\, anime\, comics and the like\n\n\n\nScience – This will be a pure science round covering all areas of science\, nature and the universe\n\n\n\nSport – Exactly what it says on the tin\n\n\n\n\nAt the end of the day the OQL will crown an overall champion as well as their 8 category champions. \n\n\n\nThe main individual quiz will be followed by a fun team quiz with teams made up on the day\, and an informal buzzer quiz where players use their smartphones to buzz.

Meath\, A84 XN15DATES: Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th October 2025 \n\n\n\nThe Championships consist of two of our biggest annual events run on consecutive days: The Irish Open individual quiz and the Irish Interprovincials team quiz\, plus additional team and individual events to make an entire weekend of quizzing fun! \n\n\n\nIMPORTANT: Quizzers planning to attend must RSVP by MONDAY 29th SEPTEMBER using this form: https://forms.gle/MzyctV7we7xcHvBu8 \n\n\n\n(A limited number of walk-ins will be allowed for those who have not pre-registered\, but you won’t be guaranteed to play on the provincial team of your choice) \n\n\n\nFull event details:\n\n\n\nOn the Saturday we’ll be holding our Irish Interprovincials quiz tournament\, an annual team competition first held in 2019. This day-long tournament pits Ulster vs Connacht vs Munster vs Leinster in a 4-way quiz showdown.Entrants can compete for the province of their birth\, the province where they live\, or any province that they have a connection to.Also on Saturday\, we will be running the October edition of the Quest Grand Prix – a monthly individual written quiz set by the UK-based British Quiz Association. DESCRIPTION:The monthly Dublin Quiz League is coming back for its 10th season in early October 2025. Ahead of the season kickoff\, we traditionally hold a free “open night” for new players and teams who haven’t played DQL before\, to come along and see how the League works. \n\n\n\nCome meet us upstairs on the middle floor of the Parnell Heritage Pub on Parnell Street on Monday 29th September from 7.30pm onwards. (The venue is fully wheelchair accessible and has a lift) \n\n\n\nFrom about 8-9pm we’ll explain the rules and play a practice game so people can “try before they buy”. Each event is an individual written quiz where hundreds of players across venues in the UK and Ireland sit the same 240 questions at the same time with 30 questions in each of the standard OQL categories. The OQL crowns winners in each category as well as an overall top 10. This event will also include fun team quizzes and buzzer quizzes at each of the venues. \n\n\n\nYou can pay £14/€15 for one event or avail of discounts for signing up to multiple events. Plus if it’s your first time attending one of these quizzes you can play for just €1! \n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\nThe event takes place in the downstairs function room of The Black Sheep pub on Dublin’s Capel Street.The rough timetable for the day is as follows: \n\n\n\n\n12 noon SHARP: Arrive and welcome\n\n\n\n12.15pm-2.00pm: Individual quiz\n\n\n\n2.00pm-2.30pm: Marking\n\n\n\n2.30pm-3.15pm: Break\n\n\n\n3.15pm-4.45pm: Fun team quiz\n\n\n\n4.45pm-5.00pm: Break\n\n\n\n5.00pm-6.00pm: Informal buzzer quizzing\n\n\n\n\nIn the main Individual quiz event\, players will have 105 minutes to answer 240 questions: 30 Qs in each of 8 categories as follows: \n\n\n\n\nArt and Literature – this will include all culture as well as classical music/ballet\n\n\n\nTelevision and Film – This category will include TV and Film from all genres and eras\n\n\n\nGeography – Much like OQL geography this round will include many social sciences as well as human and physical geography\n\n\n\nHistory – All history\, current events\, politics and a few other areas such as law\n\n\n\nLifestyle – This is the general lifestyle category which covers things such as fashion\, celebs\, food and drink\, fitness\, alternative medicines and more\n\n\n\nPop Culture – This is where you’ll find pop music questions which will make up about 50% of this round\, the rest will be other forms of popular entertainment such as computer games\, board games\, podcasts\, radio\, anime\, comics and the like\n\n\n\nScience – This will be a pure science round covering all areas of science\, nature and the universe\n\n\n\nSport – Exactly what it says on the tin\n\n\n\n\nAt the end of the day the OQL will crown an overall champion as well as their 8 category champions. \n\n\n\nThe main individual quiz will be followed by a fun team quiz with teams made up on the day\, and an informal buzzer quiz where players use their smartphones to buzz.

DESCRIPTION:Please RSVP via our Facebook event page or via email at league (at) quizireland (dot) ieThe IQO are pleased to announce we are reviving our pre-COVID tradition of having a monthly get-together to play the Hot 100 and Squizzed quizzes in person in Dublin city centre. All quizzers old and new are welcome. \n\n\n\nOur venue will be Ryan’s Café and Bar\, Store Street\, Dublin 1 (near Busáras). \n\n\n\nThe evening will consist of the Hot 100 and Squizzed individual written quizzes held one after the other\, with a short break in between. Scores for both quizzes will be fed into the Irish quiz rankings (at quizireland.ie/rankings) and also the global Hot 100 and Squizzed rankings (located at quest.quizzing.com and qutopia.at/protour respectively).
