The monthly Irish quiz rankings have just been updated, for the 12 months up to 31st Oct 2019.
We have a bit of musical chairs in the top 10 as Patrick Carthy jumps two places over both Lorcan Duff and Dan O’Malley to reach 5th place – Patrick’s highest-ever position in the rankings. Congratulations to him!
Meanwhile, Lorcan’s 4 place drop from 2nd to 6th isn’t due to any dip in performance, but simply because he’s played fewer than 6 ranking events in the past 12 months.
As a reminder on how the rankings are calculated, your top 6 scores from the past 12 months are added together and divided by 6 to give the “Top 6 Average”, which in turn determines your place in the ranking.
If you’ve played fewer than 6 events, your average is still divided by 6, hence anyone who has played 5 events or below will see their ranking slip as a result.
As always, the full rankings (not just the top 40) can be downloaded on our Rankings page.
