Launched in October 2021, the Irish Quiz League is a weekly online quiz tournament run by the Irish Quiz Organisation. Here are the essential details:
- The initial tournament consists of 18 teams from across Ireland (and beyond)
- The 18 teams have been divided randomly into two conferences of 9 teams, with each team playing each other once during the season
- The season will run between October 11th and December 13th (excluding Oct 25th due to the Irish bank holiday)
- Matches are being held on Zoom every Monday, at a time of each team’s choosing
- At the end of the season, the top 2 teams from each conference qualify for semi-finals and final, both to be held on Dec 20th
- There will be cash prizes for the overall winner and runner-up
