Two in-person quiz events coming in June

In June, the IQO is hosting not one but two day-long quizzing events:

On Saturday June 3rd we will once again host the Irish heats of the World Quizzing Championships. Dating back to 2003, the WQC is the longest-running event on the international quiz calendar. In a typical year, over 3,000 quizzers from all parts of the world compete at dozens of venues in a bid to crown the World Quizzing Champion. The IQO have hosted the Irish venue for the quiz every year since 2012 and are pleased to do so again this year. Beginning at 11am, the championships themselves are a solo written quiz consisting of two one-hour papers. The day is rounded out with a fun team quiz to last until approx 5pm. The fee for the full day’s quizzing is €10, payable on the day. More details at the WQC 2023 Dublin event page.

Meanwhile a few weeks later on Saturday June 24th we will host the second OQL Individual Championships. This brand-new event was held for the first time in March 2023 to the great enjoyment of all involved. Similar in format to the WQC – an individual written quiz – this one sees hundreds of quizzers across the UK and Ireland compete in an individual competition across 8 subjects (Sport, Geography, etc.) that will see an overall champion crowned, plus winners in each of the individual 8 subjects.

Like the March event, there will be two venues on the Emerald Isle for this quiz, one in Belfast (The Pavilion, Stormont Estate) and one in Dublin (the aforementioned Terenue Badminton Centre)

The fee for this event is €12 or £10 but for this event you must pre-register and pay online in advance before June 12th. Full details and registration link can be found on the event pages:
