The 2026 Celtic Nations will be held in the Leonardo Hotel, Cardiff on the weekend of April 18th-19th. More details
First held in 2013, the Celtic Nations is an annual international quiz tournament held every April and contested between Ireland, Wales and Scotland (and since 2023, Cornwall).
Hosting of the tournament rotates between the three founding countries. The most recent tournament was held in Ashbourne, just outside Dublin, on the weekend of April 12th/13th 2025. It will be Wales’s turn to host the 2026 tournament, which will be in Cardiff’s Leonardo Hotel on April 18th-19th.
The tournament takes place over 2 days and consists of various individuals, pairs and team quizzes. Anyone is welcome to come along and take part in the individual and pairs quizzes – participation in the teams quizzes is chosen by a selection panel and is mainly based on the Irish quiz rankings.
The event has its own dedicated website at celticnationsquiz.com where you can view results, statistics and questions for all of the tournaments to date.
