World Quizzing Championships 2024 – Dublin venue

One day… one quiz… and thousands of people around the globe competing for the title of ‘best quizzer in the world’.
It’s time for the annual World Quizzing Championships!

Dublin Venue:
Terenure Badminton Centre
It’s an individual written quiz, so you don’t need to bring a team. But there will be a fun team quiz afterwards to wind down, with teams made up on the day and seeded based on the WQC scores.
Cost is €10 per person (no teams required) for the full day’s quizzing.
If you plan on coming, either register on Quest or email iqo@quizireland.ie, so we know the numbers to expect and can have enough papers printed.

10:45-11:00: Registration
11:00-12:00: World Quizzing Championships – Part 1 (individual written quiz)
12:00-12:30: Part 1 answers & scoring
12:30-13:30: Lunch break (soup and sandwiches can be pre-ordered at the bar at the start of the event – note, the bar accepts cash only)
13:30-14:30: World Quizzing Championships – Part 2 (individual written quiz)
14:30-15:00: Part 2 answers & scoring
15:00-17:00: Fun Team Quiz (teams made up on the day)
HOW TO GET THERE…

BY CAR FROM CITY CENTRE:
From Christchurch, head south along Clanbrassil St and across the canal, then keep right at the fork in Harold’s Cross. Keep going straight for approx 2km until the KCR crossroads, where you turn right, then take the 2nd left onto Whitehall Road. After approx 750 metres, look out for a small signpost on the left hand side of the road for “Terenure Badminton Centre” and turn left into the laneway.
BY CAR FROM M50:
Take exit 11 (Tallaght) and head north towards Templeogue / city centre. At the first roundabout (Spawell) turn left. Keep driving straight for approx 1.5km, through 2 roundabouts. After the 2nd roundabout you’ll see a row of shops on your right, including The Pines pub. About 300 metres after this, look out for a small signpost on the right-hand side of the road for “Terenure Badminton Centre” and turn right into the laneway.
BY BUS:
Take the 15A from city centre southwards (to Limekiln Ave). Stay on the bus through Rathmines, Rathgar and Terenure village. After this, the bus will travel straight through the KCR crossroads before turning left onto Whitehall Road. Get off at the 4th stop on this road, called Kimmage Manor Way (stop 1094). Look for a small signpost saying “Terenure Badminton Centre” just after the bus stop (on the same side of the road) and walk down the laneway
