The third annual Irish Open Quiz was held on Saturday 21st March 2015. Once again, the event was held in the back room of the Addison Lodge pub in Glasnevin, on Dublin’s northside.
Over two dozen top Irish quizzers turned out for the occasion, and it turned out to be a very good day for Dave McBryan, who became Irish Open champion for the first time, several months after winning the inaugural series of the revived Fifteen to One on Channel 4. Dave beat off stiff competition from previous Open champion Lorcan Duff to take the title with an impressive 168 out of 240.
Once again, Irish Quiz Organisation committee member John Groarke wrote the questions for the Irish Open and acted as questionmaster for the day – thanks John! Our gratitude also goes to Mark Henry for writing the team quiz questions, Peter Lowney for generously donating the prizes for the team quiz and John Nolan for donating the prize for the Irish Open.
