A new event for your quiz calendar has just been announced – the OQL Individual Championships, an individual written quiz being played in person at over a dozen venues across the UK and Ireland on Saturday March 25th 2023 from 11am until approx 5pm.
Over 400 players are estimated to be taking part, all answering the same questions at the same time, so you can see how you measure up with the best quizzers in the UK and Ireland.
It involves a 90-minute, 200-question written quiz across 8 categories in an effort to crown the overall champion – there will also be a champion awarded in each category:
- Art and Literature
- TV and Film
- Geography
- History
- Lifestyle
- Pop music & pop culture
- Science
- Sport
The individual championships will then be followed by a fun team quiz in the afternoon to round out the day’s quizzing.
There will be two Irish venues for this quiz – one in Dublin and one in Belfast. Details as follows:
- Dublin: Terenure Badminton Club, Whitehall Rd, Terenure, Dublin D12 P659
- Belfast: The Pavilion, Stormont Estate, Upper Newtownards Road, Belfast BT4 3TA
Registration is required in advance to ensure that the correct number of papers can be delivered to each venue. To register for either venue, go to the OQL website and click Register. Payment will be arranged once your registration is confirmed. The cost is €12 or £10 per person for a whole day of quizzing fun.
