The seventh season of the Dublin Quiz League kicked off in November 2022 – back in pubs at last after a 1,000 day gap due to COVID!
We had a record number of new teams (9), however the overall number of teams decreased slightly from 21 to 20. As a result, instead of running three divisions of 7 teams each, we consolidated into two divisions of 10.
We also had to move to new venues since both of our venues from last season – The Long Stone and Ruin Bar – had been demolished (!) since 2020 due to the redevelopment of Apollo House & Townsend Street. We settled on two spacious pubs on the northside: TP Smith’s on Jervis Street and The Parnell Heritage Pub on Parnell Street. Unusually, the two venues weren’t particularly close to each other (approx 10 minutes’ walk) so we simply allocated one division to each pub (Smith’s for Div 1 and The Parnell for Div 2) so players wouldn’t be required to travel from one to the other during matches.
The season ran every month between November and April 2023 with the total prize fund being over €900.

- Points are awarded as follows: 4 points awarded for a win, 2 for a draw, 0 for a loss.
- Bonus points are awarded as follows:
- Losing bonus: 1 league point awarded to any team who loses a close match (by 7 points or less)
- Individual bonus: 1 league point awarded to any team who has a “perfect” individual round during a match (4 out of 4 correct with no conferring)
- If two or more teams are level on points, then the team with the most points “For” are ranked ahead. If that’s also equal, then we use the Points Difference (points For minus points Against).
- Teams in the prize money and/or promotion slots are shown in green. Teams in the relegation zone are shown in red.
